About me
Corporations are among the largest water consumers in the country. Fifteen years ago, with mounting public pressure, Coca-Cola began their Replenish Commitment to drive and support watershed restoration projects. Since then, many enterprises have followed setting their own targets and strategies. Together, they have worked to fund and quantify the benefits of land conservation, water supply reliability, water access, water quality improvement, and aquatic habitat restoration projects. Hundreds of projects have been completed, with many in the Intermountain West. There is a growing movement among corporations and other groups to implement nature-based solutions (NBS) and better understand the potential co-benefits related to water quantity, quality, carbon, biodiversity and socio-economics. LimnoTech contributed to the collaborative development of the NBS Benefits Explorer tool (https://nbsbenefitsexplorer.net/) to help stakeholders and corporations better understand and account for the benefits of various NBS practices. We will demonstrate the functionality of this tool.
