About me
Eric Ellis was hired as the Executive Director of the Utah Lake Commission in March of 2015. Earlier this year, the Utah Lake Authority was formed and Director Ellis was retained as the first Executive Director for the newly formed entity. In his seven years with the Commission, Mr. Ellis has enjoyed reconnecting Utah County Communities to the lake with a wide variety of projects and initiatives. Eric came to the Utah Lake Commission with a well-rounded mix of education in business, marketing and public administration as well as a breadth experience working in these fields. Prior to his time with the Utah Lake Commission, Mr. Ellis worked as the Policy Advisor for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources after having spend two years as Advisor to the previous Lt. Governor Bell.
Mr. Ellis enjoys the many opportunities he has to collaborate with local, county, and state leaders to get much needed projects implemented in and around the Lake. In the last 7-years, Utah Lake has seen added segments of shoreline trail, over 10,000 acres of successful shoreline restoration work, and Millions in funding committed that will build a 700+ Acre open space park, nearly 15-miles of lakeshore trails, enhancements to 4-marinas, the creation of a brand-new North Lake Marina and multiple strategic shoreline development projects.
